The American Club Inc of Auckland has awarded its 2016-17 Peter Brown Memorial Friendship Award (PBMFA) to Ms Hadeel Salman. The award was presented at The Crabshack, Auckland on August 6. With members of the American Club (NZ), Ms Salman was joined with her family and friends to receive the award.

Hadeel emigrated to NZ in 1999 with her family from the United Arab Emirates. Having completed her secondary schooling at Long Bay College, Auckland, Ms Salman has completed three years’ of study in law and sociology at Victoria University of Wellington (VUW). Hadeel will apply the PBMFA funds towards studying immigration law reform at California Western School of Law, San Diego, prior to returning to NZ to complete her studies.

The American Club of New Zealand offers the award to promote friendship between New Zealand and the United States through supporting undergraduate study in the United States.
